Dog Eats Its Own Poop

Question

I have a new dog and he has just turned 1 yrs old he eats his own poop and i trying to get him to stop how do I do it!

Unfortunately the short answer to your question is probably "because he likes the taste of poop!" If he is on a good quality dog food the problem is more likely behavioral instead of medical. You can try putting tobasco sauce on the poop or putting MSG on his food. Both of these have been 
reported to work in some dogs. This is usually a puppy behavior and they generally grow out of it, although not nearly soon enough!
